Alliance Advisory Council
The Advisory Council of the Birmingham Hopewell Alliance plays a critical
role in representing the community. It's simply a "network of neighbors"
- providing timely, pertinent, factual information to people they see on their
dirt road, in their subdivision, on the ball field, or in church. Council
members live, work and socialize with their neighbors on a daily basis, so
they can more effectively communicate land use issues with these individuals,
other Alliance members, county officials and people living outside the community.
Advisory council members are informed - most often through
email -- of land use issues throughout our community. The Alliance board
is responsible for supplying information, support and most materials required
for communication. Members of this advisory council will be published on
the web-site soon, so you will know who to contact when you have a question,
need information, or want to get involved.
Council members have a number of things in common
They live within the area represented
by the Alliance -- stretching roughly from Crabapple to Cherokee County,
and from Highways 9 to 140 - the non-sewered portion of Northwest Fulton.
They support current zoning that calls
for low-density residential development in most areas of the community
They represent residents within neighborhoods
or along major roads
They oppose large commercial development
that draws customers primarily from outside the community
They care about where they live
